172-DEG THERMAL FUSE AXIAL
Thermal fuses are used in applications where a circuit needs to be protected against over heating. The basic function of a thermal fuse is that they allow current to flow through them up to a certain temperature, at which the fuse will create an open circuit and cause the entire system to shut down.
There are two different types of thermal fuses, namely a resettable thermal fuse and a thermal fuse that burns off when the temperature gets too high. This specific thermal fuse is not a resettable fuse which means that the fuse will cause an open circuit when the temperature exceeds a certain point and cause the system to shut down. After this system shut down, you will have to remove the thermal fuse and replace it with a new one to ensure that you can continue working with the appliance. This shut down with this thermal fuse will happen at 172°C.
