The VS1838 IR Receiver is compatible with Arduino Boards and similar types of Development Platforms and allows Makers to build their own IR-based control systems. It operates on 3V to 5V DC and offers a receiving angle of around 70° at up to 15m distance. It is also protected by a clever little EMF jacket to shield it from electromagnetic interference, with additional features including high resistance to ambient light interference and a variable voltage input as well. These features make these IR Receivers a fantastically versatile tool for a wide range of use cases, and in the hands of a Maker with an active imagination.
