This inductive proximity switch will detect the presence of a metallic object within 5mm of the sensor. The detection distance may vary slightly depending on the shape, size, and type of metal the object is made of. It can detect through thin, non-metallic materials and has an LED indicator that turns on when the device is powered and increases in brightness when an object is detected.

all the proximety swithes work .however the sensetivety to say differ from each other
even though the test is equal for all proxeys .i am able to live with this but would have liked more than a 0.5mm gap a half a milimeter ,my understanding was from 0to 5mm , again i am still happy .kind regards
The proximity works well and mine detects a 20mm metal washer at 4.85mm using 12V. Just be aware that there is a NPN and PNP version, which determines your load connection. This is the NPN version. No layout or description sheets and therefore 4 stars.
