This DSO138 digital oscilloscope kit uses an ARM Cortex-M3 processor and includes a 2.4-inch TFT screen. It's easy and reliable for circuit testing. It can display frequency, period, pulse width, duty ratio, MAX./MIN./AVG./Peak-Peak/virtual values.

DSO138 DIY Oscilloscope kit Features:
Secondary development can be done with this kit, for example, it can be changed to a Millivoltmeter, data logger etc.
Adjustable vertical displacement.
Automatic, regular and one-shot modes, easy to capture the moment waveform.
Available rising or falling edge trigger.
Observable previous trigger waveform (negative delay).
Can freeze a waveform display at any time (HOLD function).
Comes with a 1Hz /3.3V square wave test signal source.
Waveform parameter digital display, including frequency, period, pulse width, duty ratio, MAX./MIN./AVG./Peak-Peak/virtual values.
Waveform storage function: will not lose the waveform after power off.
Short-circuit and open-circuit detection: can help the user to find soldering problems.

Everything a hobbiest need

It's a very capable and easy to use scope. Considering someone coming from only a multimeter - this will expand your tools and allow you to visualize signals and transistors, capacitors etc. as and when they actually work.

Sure - it's not a a "scope scope" - but come on? For R700 bucks - this is i.m.o a no brainer. Get one...
