Hi,

1. Can the ground on input and output be connected

2. Can the unit be used with another power supply connected to the same ground?

3. Can the unit be used connected to a 12V battery which is being charged.

Hi,

The module will not work if the  ground on input and output are connected this will cause the CC "constant current" not to sense current as the sense resister will not be active in the line.

You may have the same problem adding any supply to it that may give a ground loop to it.

Yes you can run the module while charger is connected as the "BUCK" module will not have any problem with it's regulation.
Your buck module will only step-down from higher volts like a charge votls from alternator(14.2V) so if volts go higher, the module will keep it's volts stable to the set value that will be lower then the input volts.
